On Friday, March 10, 2023, a donation of 50 Alyssa Starter Art Kits (SAKs) was delivered to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. On the same day, another 50 Alyssa SAKs were delivered to RMH East located near Johns Hopkins. Over the past 8 years, AAFH has been delivering donations of professional art kits to these institutions in St. Petersburg, FL.
The Johns Hopkins’ Alyssa SAK delivery was received by Administrative Coordinators-LaWanda and Rebecca. Rebecca and LaWanda told us how important Alyssa SAKs are to the teens & young adult patients. Rebecca also shared that our Nature and Ocean coloring book kits are a big hit because the young patients can relax and this activity calms them as they may be in the hospital for days, weeks or months at a time.
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) East delivery was received by Marilyn-the new East House Manager. We are excited to work with Marilyn and continue to share Alyssa’s spirit and love for art and music.
At each delivery we continue meeting so many wonderful people from the professional staff at the hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses, the volunteers and most importantly, the children and the family members we serve.
